The Ecological Effects of the Artificial Vegetation on the Shifting sand of the Railway Both Sides in Shapotou area

摘要: 包兰铁路通过的沙坡头地区, 位于腾格里沙漠东南缘, 地貌为起伏连绵的高大格状流动沙丘。因地处西北内陆, 加之地势较高, 具有降雨少而集中, 气候干旱, 温度变化剧烈和风大沙多、植被稀少的特点。是典型的半荒漠地带。

Abstract: Shapotou area is situated at the southeastern edge of the Tengger Desert.Its major geomorphological form is rolling shifting sand dunes and the ecological environment is extremely harsh. After 25 years of establishing atificial vegetation experiment on the shifting sand dunes, the environmental conditions have changed enormously. 1. The wind velocity near the ground has been lowered under the artificial vegetation and the capacity fo the ground surface to resist wind erosion increased under the soil formation, therefore the shifting sand dunes have been fixed. 2. A soil layer of 0.5-6.0 cm has formed on the ground surface and the N.P.K. and organic matter content has risen in the soil. The moss has grown on the ground. 3. Over 10 species which were lack on the sand dunes have appeared. So the vegetation composition has been changed. 4 The fauna of this area has changed a great deal. There are over 30 species of vertebrate in the vegetation area, while 2 species in the shifting sand area. The above mentioned facts indicate that an integrative artificial vegetation ecosystem can be on the shifting sand dunes under the rational human activities.
