Abstract:

Online attention not only reflects the recognition and appeal of tourist destinations in digital space but also serves as a significant indicator of their market preference in actual tourism. This study incorporates online attention into ecotourism research, employing methodologies including time intensity index, geographical concentration, Herfindahl index, inverse distance weighted interpolation, and panel vector autoregression model to investigate the spatiotemporal dynamic evolution characteristics and influencing factors of ecotourism online attention in provinces of the Yellow River Basin from 2012 to 2023. The findings reveal that: (1) The online attention to ecotourism in the Yellow River Basin demonstrated an overall upward trend with fluctuations during the study period, characterized by three distinct phases: rapid growth, adjustment with fluctuations, and steady recovery, exhibiting bimodal seasonal patterns throughout the year. (2) The spatial distribution of ecotourism online attention evolved from relative concentration to progressive equilibrium, forming a composite pattern characterized by north-south differentiation and multi-nuclear agglomeration in the Yellow River Basin. (3) The spatiotemporal variations in ecotourism online attention in the Yellow River Basin result from multiple factors, with transport accessibility and digitalization level demonstrating substantial explanatory significance for spatial differentiation.
