Abstract:

The deep integration of beautiful-harmonious villages, with the ecological characteristics and advantages of rural tourism resources, has become an important lever for promoting the protection and high-quality development of rural ecological resources in the Yellow River Basin. Taking the cities where 45 national key tourism towns in the Yellow River Basin are located as examples, this study employs the Haken model to measure the level of coordinated development between beautiful-harmonious village and rural tourism from 2012 to 2023. Furthermore, it explores the linear evolution law of their coordinated development using a Bayesian spatiotemporal hierarchical model. Based on this, qualitative comparative analysis is applied to identify optimal paths for promoting their coordinated development in different stages. The results show that: (1) The development and evolution of beautiful-harmonious village and rural tourism have undergone a transition from being externally policy-driven to being market-driven in the Yellow River Basin, which can be divided into two major stages: the initial stage of germination and the comprehensive promotion stage. (2) From 2012 to 2017, rural tourism served as the order parameter. From 2018 to 2023, the beautiful-harmonious village emerged as the order parameter, playing a leading role in synergy, and the overall level of synergy increased significantly. (3) There is no positive correlation between the coordinated development level of cities and their linear evolution speed. For example, upstream cities with lower coordination levels exhibit a latecomer advantage in their linear evolution speed, while downstream cities with higher development levels show a slowdown in their linear evolution speed. (4) According to path recognition, the optimization of the coordinated development path between beautiful-harmonious village and rural tourism can be summarized into five types: the joint drive of political governance and market demand, the joint drive of political governance and ecological environment under the pressure of market demand, the filling of other elements under the background of political governance deficiency, the filling of political governance under the background of market demand deficiency, and the dynamic optimization of internal and external environment dual drive.
