Numerical Simulation of Effect of Black Carbon and Organic Carbon Aerosols on Atmospheric Temperature in China

Abstract  The research of black carbon (BC) and organic carbon (OC) aerosols become a focus point because they are the main components of atmospheric aerosols, and they also play an important role in the change of regional and global climate. The Regional Climate Model(version 3) (RegCM3) is used to simulated the radiative forcing effect of BC and OC aerosols on air temperature change in China, then the influences of BC and OC aerosols on air temperature are analyzed. The simulation result shows that BC aerosol produces positive radiative forcing effects at the atmosphere top, but the radiative forcing effects at the atmosphere top produced by OC aerosol are not positive values utterly, while the forcing effects are negative at the land surface in the research region for both aerosols. BC and OC aerosols cause distinct increase in air temperature between 28°—30° N in China, and decrease in the area of 35°—36.2° N in China. The calefactive effect of BC is stronger than OC.
