Abstract The Andir river situates in the southern Tarim desert and originates from the Kunlun mountains. A great deal of river water infilter into below riverbed in upper reaches and replenish river as spring in lower reaches, so the middle reaches are zero flow riverbed. The paper analyzed the water level variations of Andir river in inner year, frozen period, unfrozen period and flood period; has established the equation of river discharge in relation with water level; besides, has deduced the daily mean discharge variations in frozen period, unfrozen period and flood period. It was calculated that the total spring output of Andir river was 0.5528×108 m3 in 1998.
