Abstract: Based on the analysis of lithostratigraphy, magnetism, geochemistry, and the datings of TL, ESR and ¹⁴C, the sedimentary stratum and forming age of the "old red sand" that is widespread in the coastal area of southeastern Fujian Province can be divided into three stages as 60~40 ka B.P., 30~25 ka B.P. and 20~10 ka B.P.
