Abstract: Comprehensive sand-fixation technology has potential and application prospect in desertification control and restoration. The feasibility of combining biological and chemical sand-fixation technology was explored by studying the growth state and physiological characteristics of moss soil crust, mixed with different compounding ratio and inoculum concentration of attapulgite superabsorbent sand-fixation material. The results showed that,on the certain temperature and light intensity, the moss soil crust grows in the best state when sandy-moss,mixed with attapulgite superabsorbent sand-fixation material at a mass ratio of 1:4,was inoculated on the sand at the size of the 500 g·m-2. The study brings positive effect in promoting the improvement of sand-fixation technology.

Key words: moss soil crust, attapulgite, sand-fixation material, superabsorbent polymers
