Abstract: In order to reveal the population spread, growth characteristics and spatial distribution law of Reaumuria songarica in Alashan Plateau, the size structure analysis method and Ripley's K function were used to study the population structure, spatial distribution pattern and spatial correlation of R.songarica various under different wetness gradients. The results showed that the population of R.songarica was dominated by stable population, followed by declining population. The young plants were rare and the population renewal was limited. With the decrease of climate humidity, the spatial distribution pattern of R.songarica population and age class changes from diversification to single form, that is, the aggregation distribution changes to a random distribution or a uniform distribution type to a predominantly random distribution type. In the humid regions, the spatial correlation between the age classes is relatively complex. Generally speaking, with the increase of scale, it is characterized by "positive association→no correlation→negative correlation". In the more arid regions, there is generally no correlation. R.songarica is one of the most important species in the Alashan Plateau. In the process of ecological restoration, it should follow the laws of natural growth and distribution, improving the survival rate and reproduction rate of plants through optimized artificial tending and protection, and give full play to the ability of R.songarica population to prevent wind and sand.
