Investigation of medicinal plant resources in the Qaidam Basin, China

Abstract:

The current status of medicinal plant resources in the Qaidam Basin of Qinghai Province was grasped with the aim of providing a scientific basis for the effective conservation and sustainable utilization of local traditional Chinese medicine resources. A combination of field sample lines and sample plots was adopted to investigate and count the species of medicinal plant resources in the Qaidam Basin. There are 162 species of medicinal plants in 108 genera and 40 families in the Qaidam Basin, the life type is mainly herbaceous, the medicinal parts are mainly herbaceous, the medicinal plants show the characteristics of the northern temperate zone and are intermixed with the multi-faceted zones, there are 9 species of key medicinal plants, there are 21 species of rare and endangered wild medicinal plants, and Cistanches salinaris is a new record in the region.
