Characteristics of Soil Salinization in the Yutian Oasis Based on Canonical Aorrespondence Analysis

Abstract

Study on spatial distribution of soil salinity is important for guiding agricultural production. In the Yutian Oasis, the soil saline-alkalization problem is quite severe. In this paper, the salt content, ion components, electrical conductivity, mineralization degree and pH value were investigated with conventional statistics and canonical correspondence analysis methods for testing the spatial variability of soil salinity. The results indicated that in this oasis soil salinity profile belonged to the top enrichment, and was mainly the sulfate chlorination; the soil was slight to moderate in alkalization. Soil salinity, electrical conductivity, pH value and mineralization degree increased with increasing soil depth; in the soil, Na+ and Cl- played an essential advantage, as soil depth increased, the the coefficient of variation decreased, the soil media became more uniform and more stable; the canonical correspondence analysis showed that Na+ and Cl-, Ca2+ and K+ were well correlated in all soil layers, and showed mainly positive correlation relationship. This study could provide lots of scientific support for soil salinity treatment and improvement, agricultural planning and adjustment, and irrigation and drainage engineering planning in the future.
