Abstract: The sand control with low coverage is a new idea, new technology and new model for desertification control. The wind prevention and sand control system with low coverage is an innovation rooted from the natural ecology (close-to-nature forestry), an innovative and new academic field for human, a new technological system of the ecological construction and a new field which has started in recent decade. The theory of sand control with low coverage includes sand physics, hydrology, ecology and sustainable development. It will also provide the scientific basis for developing the sand prevention and fixation in the arid and semi-arid regions into a new stage of low coverage and enhancing the ecological recovery benefit to provide scientific and technological support for the large-scale ecological construction projects in China.
