Abstract: The natural situation and the effect for transforming sandy land, and the principal experiences are briefly described in the study. By auth-er's observation, the desertification phenomanon is going to be serious, the natural productivty is decreasing, the precipitation level is declining, and local microclimate is changing from bad to worse. Some measures against desertification problem, are presented according to local experiences as well. It is considered that the semi-arid zone should be refferred as pivotal belt to control desertification and more consideration shoud be paid to the important roles of the semi-arid zone on the economic development of agriculture and animal industry and on the stableness of ecosystem.
