Abstract: Salinized soil is a serious problem of desert area, which harms seriously agriculture, livestock husbandry and traffic construction. In desert area there is not only primary salinized soil but also secondary one produced by planting or irrigating unreasonably.Only in Gansu Province, the area of salinized soil is more than 1.334×10⁶ hectares and 80 percent of it distributed in the Gansu Corridor. Owing to drought climate and bad natural conditions, in esert area it is unsuitable to irrigate water into soil as the main way to harness salinized soil. However, grasping the principle of the soil salt harming crops from the view of agricultural ecology and choosing or planting anti-salt or salt-resistant crops with local conditions will-be-tie main way that exploits and] uses salinized soil in desert area. The data of the content of the soil salt and the corresponding yield of the wheat obtain-ed by experiment in Zhang Ye, Min Qin and Jiu Quan is an exampla. This paper discussed the principal component of the soil salt harming crops, the influence of mono-salt factor on the yeild of crops and the rees-triction of the salt complex on crops, meanwhile the quantitative analysis was carried out. It was hoped to be advanta-geous to choose anti-salt crops and harness the salinized soil in desert area.
