Abstract: Natural environment in desert areas is harsh. Frequent wind sand activities may affect the highway construction at every stage. In order to understand the affecting factors of desert environment on the highway engineering and obtain the quantitative knowledge of their influences,the secondary matrix method was used to quantitatively evaluate the degree of evnironmental influence on the highway engineering and put forward some countermeasures.
