A Review on Dynamic Numerical Simulation of Sand Dune (Ⅱ)-Sand Dune Formation

Abstract  The formation and evolution processes of sand dunes strongly depend on initial dynamical conditions and surficial nature. Dynamic numerical simulation of sand dunes can take a full consideration into these initial conditions, and then successfully simulate the interaction between dunes and do some further prediction on their evolution. The mainly used methods and achievements on formation and evolution of sand dunes by means of dynamic numerical simulation are presented in this paper.
