Abstract: According to meteorological data of the Heishanzui area of Dunhuang, the authors conducted systematic study about the regional sand activity characteristics. The results show that the main direction of the resultant sand-driving wind is south, just from desert hinterland to oasis. From desert to oasis, the vegetation and buildings cover increase, thus the frequency of sand-driving wind and drift potential reduce. So the sand activities have gradually been weakened, and spring has the strongest sand activities. In summer and autumn, the vegetation of oasis not only effectively reduce the wind speed, but also reduce the frequency of sand-driving wind and thus improve the microclimate. The relation between the daily variation of temperature and humidity is obviously negative. However, with the increase of monthly average wind velocity, the monthly average temperature rises. And the more closer to the desert hinterland, the higher of their correlation. But this phenomenon of between day and night just exist in the summer and autumn.
