Review of Field Measurement Technologies in Soil Wind Erosion

Abstract: Field measurements are the earliest and most widely used methods in soil wind erosion research. After several decades of efforts, a series of instruments and methods specially used in field measurements of wind erosion have been developed. The instruments and methods used among different nations or domestic units are not the same due to there is no uniform standard, which is not conducive to communication and cooperation. For this reason, this paper has thoroughly combed the technologies used in field measurements of wind erosion at home and abroad, summed up its history, introduced its research progress from three aspect:measurement of wind erosion effecting factors, sediment collection and determination of soil loss by wind, compared the advantages and disadvantages among different instruments and methods, pointed out some of the better methods that have been used widely, and prospected the future development trend in field measurement technologies of soil wind erosion. The purpose of this paper is to provide references for the improvement of field measurement technology in soil wind erosion.
