Numerical Simulation on Windblown Sand Cloud in the Fluctuating Wind Field |

Abstract Based on experiment and the description of fluctuating wind field by Langevin equation, the characteristics of saltating grains as well as the windblown sand cloud have been discussed. The numerical simulations demonstrate that the fluctuating wind field exerts a great influence on saltation of grains, and the smaller the grain size is, the greater the influence would be. Moreover, the windblown sand cloud in the fluctuating wind field also shows a stratified characteristic and the mass fluxes agree well with the previous experiments.
