Abstract: Gymnocarpos przewalskii was listed as one of second-class rare and endangered plants of the state. Up to now,there have been few research works on the artiticial planting methed of Gymnocarpos przewalskii and few research findings. The investigation of the habitats of Gymnocarpos przewslskii and experiments on its propogation methods have been conducted during past 3 years. The research findings show that the phenological period of Gymnocarpos przewalskii is slightly earlier than that of those located in its original habitats,this species can grow and develop and bear seeds normally, the skin of seeed is soft.Without special treatments,the seed can germinate well 10 days after sowing in the sandy loam at a depth of 2 cm. The survival rate of cuttings from 1 2 year-old branches whichh were treated with ABT-1.solution with a concentration of 100 and 0.015% can reaches 40-80%.Their survival rate is much higher than those of check.
