Abstract: Vegetation resources in Hexi region have degraded badly due to irrational development and lack of management, for example, the qualities and areas of forests, shrubs, grassland plants and meadow plants had reduced, in addition, the desert plants had become rare. In order to improve the qualities of vegetation resources and prevent them from being degraded it is mecessary to utilize, control and protect them rationally, including actively planting herbs and trees, strictly forbiding to cut down trees and to destroy herbs for reclamation of waste land, properly closing hillsides to livestock grazing and fuel gatherting, constructing natural conservation regions etc.
