Abstract: Naiman Banner,Inner Mongolia has large tracts of desertified land(accounting for 69.5% of total area) and suffered from serious damages. Supported by local government the Institute of Desert Research, Academia sinica established a research station for rehabilitating desertified land comprehensively and achieved significant ecological, social and economical benefits. The main measures adopted are adjustment of landuse structure, reducing low-yield farmland, soil improvement, growing cash cropwith high benefit, dune stabilization and afforestation.
