Abstract: Theue are ten county-and-banner grasslands in the sandy area borderimg Inner Mongolia, Shanxi and Shaanxi Provinces, where the construction of the bases of energy source and chemical industry are under way. In this paper the devdlopmental prospect of animal raising and strategies for utilizing the grassland resources rationally have been put forward based on the analysis of their present status, existing problems and the increasing demand in coal mining area.
