Abstract: The Badain Jaran Desert is regarded as the most beautiful desert in the world. This paper researches on natural beauty of the Badain Jaran Desert. For this purpose, photos taken by tourists were collected and analyzed, and the Li Kete's 5 point scale was used to evaluate the beauty of the Badain Jaran Desert by different disciplines' respondents. The main conclusions are as follows: (1)The Badain Jaran Desert has various types of natural landscape. It includes sand hill (sand dunes, sand ripple), lakes, animals, plants, sunrise and sunset. And the landscape combined by lake and sand hill has the highest evaluation. (2)The Badain Jaran Desert has beautiful images, colors and lines, And all kinds of beauty enjoy a high degree evaluation. (3)The Badain Jaran Desert has 9 kinds of image features, including wide, tranquil, soft, strange, desolate, quiet, steep, hazy and majestic. Among these, the wide, tranquil and soft images give people a deep impression. (4)The most attractive colors in the Badain Jaran Desert include blue, yellow, green, white, black, and purple. Through combination and comparison, different colors create a impressive visual image. (5)The Badain Jaran Desert has beautiful sand ridges, sand dune chains and sand ripples. Serpentine line, oblique line and horizontal line are three main types line. By combining or repeating order, the lines convey a rhythm, dynamic and lively desert image. (6)The ability of the Badain Jaran Desert' landscape to attract different groups is quite different. The difference of subject background leads different evaluation of natural beauty. According to the research conclusions, this paper puts forward three suggestions to accelerate the development of the beautiful landscape of the Badain Jaran Desert. The suggestions are as follows: (1)The local government should pay more attention to protecting the desert ecological environmental. And make a sustainable development. (2)The local government should adopt in-depth development strategies and make full use of the aesthetic education function. (3) Pay attention to the difference between different tourist groups, and expand the market by increasing market segments.
