Abstract: The dynamic changes of carbon absorption, carbon emissions, and carbon footprint of major crops in agricultural production in Lanzhou, Tianshui, Qingyang, Dingxi, Jinchang, Jiayuguan city and Gannan Autonomous Prefecture in 2007-2014 were quantitatively analyzed. The main results of the study are summarized as follows:The carbon uptake of farmland ecosystems in the studied areas in 2007-2014 was 1.67-61.18 million tons, with an annual increase rate of 3.31%-18.10%. The largest carbon absorption intensity of farmland ecosystems was in Jiayuguan city, followed by Lanzhou city, while Dingxi City was ranked the carbon absorption intensity with an average of 0.62 t·hm-2. The annually net carbon absorption for Lanzhou, Tianshui, Qingyang, Dingxi, Jinchang, Jiayuguan and Gannan in 2007-2014 were -0.254, -0.241, -0.196, -0.221, -0.005, 0.163, -0.042 t·hm-2, respectively.
