Abstract:

This paper investigated residents of Beijing, Tianjin, Shanxi Hebei, and Inner Mongolia to collect the CVM data of desertification control of Kubuqi Desert by network questionnaires, selected relevant factors to calculate classified proportion, annual per capita payment of willingness to pay and ecosystem service value, and performed further analysis using binary logistic regression model on the influential factors for the proportion of the resident’s willingness to pay. Main conclusions are as follows: (1) 89.89% of the respondents have the Willingness to Pay, and annual per capita payment is 87.04 yuan. (2) the total value of the Kubuqi Desertification Control Programs to the residents of the 5 surveyed Provinces(or Cities) is 14 282 723 500 yuan per year. (3) Gender, Industry Category and Whether to Support Desertification Control or Not are the main factors for the proportion of residents’ willingness to pay. Desertification control is an important way to enhance the value of ecosystem services. This study can provide a reference for the government to guide the whole people to participate in Kubuqi Desertification Control.
