Abstract:

In order to study the source area and paleoenvironmental implication of the late Pleistocene loess and paleosol deposits on the northeastern Tibetan Plateau (NETP), samples of loess and paleosol in this study area have been collected from 2012 to 2016. In addition, typical sections of loess and paleosol deposits have been sampled for ZYC section in east shore of Qinghai Lake in September 2013, GC section and RS section in north shore of Qinghai Lake in August 2019. By method of X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF), the preliminary dataset of elemental compositions of loess and paleosol deposits on the NETP has been constructed. This dataset includes four group files: (1) elemental compositions of loess and paleosol deposits (less than 75 μm fractions) on the NETP (ELE_NETP_LP); (2) elemental compositions of loess and paleosol deposits in the ZYC section on the NETP (ELE_NETP_ZYC); (3) elemental compositions of loess and paleosol deposits in the GC section on the NETP (ELE_NETP_GC); (4) elemental compositions of loess and paleosol deposits in the RS section on the NETP (ELE_NETP_RS). The dataset was archived in .xlsx format. This dataset can provide essential support for investigating the source area and paleoenvironmental significance of loess-paleosol deposits on the NETP.
