Preliminary Study on Soil Characteristics of Flight Area at Xining Caojiabao Airport |

Abstract The soil properties of the flight area of Xi'ning Caojiabao Airport were studied. The results indicated that pH and total-P had low variance, while other soil properties such as organic matter, total-N, total-K, alkaline hydrolytic N, available-P and available-K had medium variance. Compared with the soils measured in the Second National Soil Survey around the airport, the soil organic matter and the other soil nutrients in the airport area were significantly lower than those around the airport except pH and total-P. In the airport area, the soil properties in vegetation part were higher than those in bared soil except available N, pH and total salt content. But the result of Variance Analysis showed that there were no significant differences except total-P.
