Spatial and Temporal Variation of NDVI in Gansu, China during 2001-2010 Based on Remote Sensing |

Abstract Based on a long sequence of MODIS image data, we obtained 2001 to 2010 NDVI sequence of Gansu Province by parallel computing. This paper use mean, maximum value composite, linear regression, Moran'I analysis method to study vegetation cover dynamic changes of level, NDVI spatial pattern as well as the ecological regions NDVI trends of Gansu Province in the period 2001-2010. The results showed that the overall vegetation cover trend of Gansu Province is good. What is more, the vegetation cover of various ecological regions is quite different. The spatial pattern of NDVI in Gansu Province and ecological regions show positive spatial autocorrelation.
