Abstract:

Surface litter is an important part of the ecosystem in Mu Us Sandy Land, and wind erosion is an important factor affecting litter volume and redistribution. In this paper, the characteristics of litter composition and its response to soil wind erosion of Salix psammophila community were analyzed by field investigation and indoor wind tunnel test. The results showed that: (1) Branches and leaves account for 56% and 30% of the surface material composition of Salix psammophila litter, respectively, and the litter biomass decreases significantly with the increase of the distance from the base of Salix psammophila (30-90 cm). (2) The soil loss decreases exponentially with the increase of the litter biomass (200-800 g·m-2), especially with the treatment of 400 g·m-2. (3) Compared with the leaves, the branches of Salix psammophila community litter play a leading role in wind erosion resistance. The research is expected to provide some scientific basis for vegetation construction and ecological reconstruction in Mu Us Sandy Land.
