Research of the Suitable Row Spacing on Clay Barriers and Straw Barriers

Abstract: The basic principle of the row spacing between mechanic barriers is that eroding sand quantity by wind equals to accumulating sand quantity.A obvious regression correlation is existed among the slope of sand surface,hollow surface area and row spacing between barriers,a equation may be found through the regression correlation.Practically,the equation has been found individually in Minqin desert through samples taken,the row spacing between clay barriers and straw barriers are 253.1185.9 cm and 261.4155.0 cm when the slopes of sand surface are 08 and 010 in order.The height of clay barriers should be the smallest one in the suitable values;I t is not wind erosion between clay barriers w hen their height is 15 cm and the slope of sand surface is mo re than 8;It is also not w ind erosion between barriers w hen the slope of sand surface on straw barriers is mo re than 10.The smallest row spacing on the clay barrier of 15cm high and the straw barrier o f useful height of 13cm for sand fixing are 185.9 cm and 155.0 cm.If external moving sand need to be accepted on the basis of local sand surface fixed or partial sand need to be eroded by wind,the average thick of accepted sand quantity or eroded quantity may be one of the parameters to count row spacing of barriers.According to the barrier condition which the row spacing is set to the eroding sand quantity by wind ≤the accumulating sand quantity,its square forms of sand barriers only suit in the desert area of wind-direction varying.
