Study on Effect of Sand Raising Coefficient to Sandstorm Modification |

Abstract Sandstorm formation needs two necessary conditions: the one is synoptic condition, and the other is land surface condition. Generally, sandstorm numerical model takes land surface into account by using friction velocity to determine sand raising flux. This paper, by synthetically using land surface conditions (such as land use, vegetation classification, soil types and soil moisture) defined sand raising coefficient and improved the sandstorm numerical model of sand raising flux. The result shows that the sand raising coefficient can efficiently improve the forecasting of sandstorm domain and sandstorm concentration.
