Abstract: Lakes have important effects on ecological and environmental change in arid areas, thus the change of lake hydro-chemical characteristics has a direct role and significant influence on the change of arid area oasis ecology environment and the same as water environmental. In this paper, a typical region of the Ebinur Lake Basin as the research object, tested physicochemical characteristics with surface water samples, which collected from field on May in 2014, and extracted six kinds of water indices by using remote sensing images in the same period. Using SPSS software to analyze the correlation of water index and water chemical characteristics, found that correlation between the chemical characteristics of water and the water index (AWEI, EWI, NWI and RNDWI) was smaller (0.2 < R < 0.34), NDWI and MNDWI correlation between the pH value of water bodies was smaller (R=0.276), correlation with other chemical characteristics of water was larger (0.569 < R < 0.827). This article mainly studied the relationship between water index NDWI, MNDWI and the value of water chemical characteristics, built the relationship model at last.
