Abstract:

There are a lot of geological heritages in the Qaidam Basin. The scientific and systematic inventory and evaluation can provide scientific basis for its classification protection and exploitation. This article, based on the systematacially field investigation, using the method of the qualitative description and quantitative evaluation, from the aspects of resources value and development conditions, included scientific value, aesthetic value, maintainability, infrastructure services, etc. established the main evaluation index system and multi-layer hierarchical structure model to give a comprehensive evaluation using the analytic hierarchy process. The results show that:(1) There are various types of geological heritages in the basin, most of which are fragile and precious, and the protection measures are not perfect at present. (2) The comprehensive scores are as follows: waterscape resources 88.96, mountain and stone landscapes 86.48, paleontological relics or suspicious paleontological relics 78.22, paleoanthropology 74.25, paleoplant 73.51 and glacier 68.15. (3) According to the results of quantitative analysis, the geological heritages in the region are classified, and the suggestions for classification protection of geological heritages are proposed. This study has certain guiding significance for the protection of geological heritage resources, popularization of scientific knowledge and promotion of regional geological tourism in the Qaidam Basin.
