Abstract:

There are still limitations in the measurement scope and applicability of current ecosystem service valuation models. Based on SEEA-EA, the scope of ecosystem service measurement was defined, and an optimized ecosystem service value assessment model was constructed by using the modified equivalent factor method. Taking Gansu Province as the study area, the trend of ecosystem service value changed from 2010 to 2018 and the spatial distribution characteristics of 14 cities and states in Gansu Province were evaluated and analyzed. The results showed that: (1) The land use structure of Gansu Province was dominated by desert and grassland. The area of farmland and desert decreased during the study period, while the area of forest, grassland and water area increased in different ranges. (2) The increase rate of ecosystem service value in Gansu Province from 2010 to 2018 was 20.68%. The ecosystem service value of water area, forest and grassland increased, while the ecosystem service value of cropland and desert decreased. The value of each individual ecosystem service showed an increasing trend. (3) The ecosystem service value of Gansu Province was more in the south and less in the north. The ecosystem service value per unit area of Longnan, Gannan and Zhangye ranked the top three in Gansu Province in 2018. (4) The scarcity of ecosystem services was becoming more and more prominent in Gansu Province, and the scarcity degree of ecosystem services value relative to socio-economic value varied significantly among cities and states. This optimization model can be used to carry out a comprehensive spatio-temporal evaluation of ecosystem service value, which can provide a certain decision basis for ecological compensation and value realization of ecological products in Gansu Province and even in the Yellow River Basin.
