Effects of Eco-mat Mulch on Soil Temperature and Water Content in Desert |

Abstract One-year-period monitoring for soil water content and soil temperature in windward slope of moving dunes with eco-mat mulch proved that compared with the CK the eco-mat mulch might enhance the soil moisture content by 56% within 20-40 cm depth, enhance the soil moisture content by 58% with 40-60 cm depth; whereas, reduce the eco-mat mulch might reduce the soil surface layer temperature by 14.27℃ in July, besides, the soil temperature vary gently between soil layers and the eco-mat had obvious effect of heat and soil moisture conservation below 10 cm soil layer.
