Abstract:

It is very important for regional land use planning and ecological construction evaluation to explore the dynamic change of land use and its ecosystem service value (ESV) response at the provincial and autonomous region scale. Based on the Landsat TM, ETM+ and OLLI remote sensing images of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in 2000, 2010, 2015 and 2020, we constructed the land use database from 2000 to 2020 using the object-oriented classification method. After the ESV equivalent per unit area was constructed for this region, the land use dynamic degree and ESV index methods were adopted to reveal the land use transition and its ESV response from 2000 to 2020. The results showed that grassland and cultivated land were the main land use types in Ningxia, accounting for 44.7% and 31.7% on average, respectively. With the implementation of ecological engineering, cultivated land decreased, and forest and grassland increased, while the development of social economy made the construction land continue to expand. With the land use transition, the total amount of ESV in Ningxia showed an increasing, decreasing and increasing process from 2000 to 2020, and ranged from 45.09 to 45.91 billion Yuan with the highest value in 2010. Grassland and cultivated land are the main ESV contribution types in Ningxia. The ESV contribution of grassland is 35.9%, which is obviously lower than its area proportion, while the ESV contribution of forest and wetland is higher than their area proportion. The average annual contribution of Wuzhong, Guyuan, Zhongwei, Yinchuan and Shizuishan to the total amount of ESV in Ningxia was 29.9%, 27.5%, 20.5%, 14.5% and 7.6%, respectively. From 2000 to 2020, the contribution of each city to the total value of ecosystem services in Ningxia was relatively stable. Due to the large differences in the distribution of various land uses in cities, the contribution of ESV of each land use type to its total value changes. The results can provide reference for land use planning and ecological construction evaluation in Ningxia.
